Thai Cooking Symphony' exhibition at Ban Chaopraya Arts Gallery in Bangkok

Food is a fundamental human need that reflects the culture, environment, ingenuity, and context of the surrounding region. In Thailand, food plays an especially important role in cultural context, yet we often overlook the rich history of the dishes we enjoy.
The sounds of food preparation can easily whet our appetites, much like history informs and enriches culture. Every dish has its own unique story, making them all the more delicious.
This study aims to explore the aesthetic qualities of Thai cooking sounds by recording and analyzing the elements found in well-known Thai dishes prepared using various methods. Furthermore, we seek to investigate the possibility of using Thai cooking sounds in experimental art to represent the story of each dish.
